Additional Courses Required for Graduation

These courses may be taken as Independent Study courses, provided they are pre-approved by the Electives Department Chair.

Computer Proficiency – one credit, required credit.
This course is designed to teach students a range of subjects related to the computer. This is a required class in accordance with Delaware state objectives. Topics covered will include keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheet utilization, Internet research, web page design and implementation, and Internet safety/etiquette. (This course is offered during odd-numbered graduating years.)

Health – one-half credit – must pass to graduate.
This course includes and satisfies the Delaware state Health requirement for students.  Topics will include:  mental health, drug awareness, first aid, CPR, nutrition, abstinence and STDs, and the importance of physical exercise.  Students may take this course any time during the senior high school years. (This course is offered during even-numbered graduating years.)
