Beginner’s Drama for Grades 2-5: Spotlight on Creativity
Course Overview: Step into the world of imagination and performance with the Towle Institute Elementary Drama Program! This dynamic course is designed for students in grades 2 through 5 who are eager to explore the exciting realm of theater. Through interactive games, creative projects, and live performances, students will develop an understanding and appreciation of drama while building confidence and teamwork skills.

  • Quarter 1: Introduction to Drama: Foundations of Theater: In the first quarter, students will learn the fundamentals of theater, including stage directions, voice projection, and character development. They will engage in theater games, skit performances, puppet shows, mask-making, and group storytelling to build cooperation and audience etiquette.
  • Quarter 2: Building on Foundations: Expressive Performance: In the second quarter, students will continue refining their performance skills by focusing on expression, emotion, and delivery. They will also explore character-building activities, improv games, and cooperative storytelling to deepen their understanding of dramatic techniques.
  • Quarter 3: Musical Theater: Singing, Acting, and Performance: In Quarter 3, students will build upon their dramatic foundations and explore the world of musical theater. They will learn simple choreography, practice vocal techniques, and perform songs from popular musicals. Collaboration and creativity will be emphasized as students prepare for their end-of-semester performance.
  • Quarter 4: Musical Theater: Final Performance and Showcase: In the final quarter, students will fine-tune their performance for the musical theater showcase. They will perfect their acting, singing, and dancing skills, preparing for the big day when they present their talents to an audience.
 

Rotating Enrichment for Grades 2-5: PE, Art, Music, ASL
Course Overview: Welcome to Towle Institute’s Rotating Enrichment Class, where creativity, teamwork, and fun collide! This year-long course engages students in grades 2-5 across four dynamic quarters: Physical Education, Art, Music, and American Sign Language (ASL). Each quarter encourages skill development, creativity exploration, and collaboration. By year-end, students gain a well-rounded experience in fitness, art, and music communication.

  • Quarter 1: Physical Education: Gymnastics-Inspired Fitness: Students will engage in gymnastics-inspired exercises that improve agility, strength, and flexibility. Through outdoor games, partner activities, and fun fitness routines, they will learn that staying active and keeping their bodies healthy can be enjoyable. Students will set personal fitness goals and develop a sense of teamwork by cheering each other on.
  • Quarter 2: Music: Exploring Sound and Rhythm: Quarter 3 will introduce students to the world of music. They will explore the fundamentals of sound, rhythm, and melody. Students will learn about different musical instruments, experiment with their voices, and explore rhythm exercises. They will also have opportunities to create their own simple musical compositions and work together to produce a fun musical performance.
  • Quarter 3: Art: Creative Exploration: Students will unleash their inner artists through various fun and engaging art projects. Students will explore different artistic techniques and express their creativity from drawing and painting to sculpting and mixed media creations. The focus will be on building creative confidence, developing fine motor skills, and appreciating the beauty in the world around them. 
  • Quarter 4: Introduction to American Sign Language (ASL): In the final quarter, students will be introduced to the basics of American Sign Language. They will learn simple signs for everyday words, phrases, and greetings, along with the importance of visual communication.
