Elementary Mathematics

All math courses are graded and billed as part-time middle school courses of $650, plus a non-refundable $30 application fee and a $50 book fee, which are due at registration. A monthly payment plan is available.

Math Foundations (4th – 6th grade)
*Prerequisite: Math placement test
Text: Math Connects, Grade 5, Glencoe McGraw-Hill
Course Overview: This course offers an engaging approach to foundational mathematics through McGraw-Hill Math Connects Grade 5. Students will explore key math concepts via hands-on activities, real-world problem solving, and daily practice. The curriculum develops fluency in whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and basic algebra. It also strengthens skills in geometry, measurement, data analysis, and probability.
Throughout the year, learners will apply mathematical reasoning, communicate their thinking, and gain confidence in solving multi-step problems. Technology integration and cross-curricular connections make math meaningful and relevant. By the end, students will be prepared for advanced middle school math concepts.

Middle School Math (5th – 8th grade)

Text: Math Connects 1, Glencoe McGraw-Hill

Course Overview: This class aims to provide a firm foundation for Middle School Math 2 or Pre-Algebra. Topics covered include: fractions, decimals, word problems, simple geometry, integers, factorization, ratios, rates, percentages, proportions, exponents, inequalities, graphing, and equations. This class is for the student who could use a review of the fundamentals of math with an emphasis on computation. Having the multiplication tables memorized before taking this class is strongly suggested.
