Spanish 1A
Prerequisite:  C or better in English 6
Spanish 1A is an introduction to the Spanish language and culture designed to help the junior high student develop proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing at the introductory level.  Vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and culture are present in realistic situations through listening comprehension activities, pronunciation drills, conversation, dialogues, written activities, readings, puzzles, songs, and games.

Spanish 1B
Prerequisite:  C or better in Spanish 1A
Spanish 1B is a continuation of the text and course of Spanish 1a.  Easy to answer questions requires students to speak about their daily lives, express their opinions and supply real information on topics related to introductions, family, school, activities, numbers, descriptions, professions, feelings, and other situations.

French 1A
Prerequisite:  C or better in English 6
Open to 7th – 8th graders, this course is designed to be an introduction to the French language and culture with building awareness of francophone countries other than France. Various resources will be pulled together to introduce the student to listening, reading, and writing in French. Emphasis will be placed on proper pronunciation.
